This is an intensive course on Orthopaedic Basic Sciences aimed at trainees who are in their earlier years
of training and those preparing for the FRCS (Tr & Orth) examination. The course is also suitable for surgeons
in practice who wish to refresh their knowledge in Orthopaedic Basic Sciences.

The course is designed to provide the delegate with a comprehensive update on all the topics in Basic
Sciences in Orthopaedics that are assessed in the examination and are clinically relevant. The format of the
course includes interactive lectures and mock vivas on all the three days of the course to provide the
candidates with ample time to gain knowledge and also to refine their examination technique. The course
is run over three days at Magdalene College in Cambridge and structured Vivas are conducted with
experienced Consultants on each evening of the course.

Candidates are encouraged to apply early as places are limited.

Suitable for: Candidates appearing for the FRCS (Orth) exam (24 spaces only, therefore book early to avoid
disappointment) and SpRs in Training from Year 1-4.

Course Fee: £495 (For Candidates appearing for the exam and who will be registering for Vivas),
£320 (For Lectures only - SpRs in their earlier years of training and all surgeons wishing to refresh their
knowledge)

Sunday 16/03/2014 - Hands Part 2 and back up lectures

This is Part 2 of an 8 day long, module based course, specifically designed for candidates to brush up their theory knowledge for the FRCS(orth) exam and will be suitable for candidates who are appearing the part1 and also those who have passed the part 1. The course aims to cover a significant portion of the knowledge base required for the FRCS(orth) exam and is based on OCAP. There will be at least two hours of problem based learning every day and will allow candidates to interact with clinicians who are specialists in their fields. The course is being held in over some week days and weekends to allow candidates to travel back and forth and allow them to imbibe knowledge without overloading. Part 1 of the course will take place from 26th to 28th February 2014 and Part 3 from 5th to 7th April 2014.

The registration fee for the whole course is £700. There is a daily rate of £150 for candidates wishing to attend part of the course.
